Snapchat started as a mobile-only app but if looking to post from a laptop or PC, that is only possible through official methods. No third-party software needed for this. Here’s exactly how to do it and what you can and can’t post from a computer.<\/span><\/p>\n

Can You Post on Snapchat from Your Laptop?<\/span><\/h1>\n

Yes. Snapchat has a web version that runs in any browser. You can use your webcam to take snaps and post them to your story, upload video files to My Story or Spotlight<\/a> and send photos and videos to friends in chat.<\/span><\/p>\n

There are some limitations worth knowing upfront. Only videos can be uploaded to My Story and Spotlight from a computer. Photos can be shared in chats but not posted as story content through the web version. If you want to post a photo to your story you still need the mobile app.<\/span><\/p>\n

Method 1: Post a Snap to Your Story Using the Webcam<\/span><\/h1>\n
